As is true about all things IT, everything is subject to change. This is the case with Ernest. He came about as the representative for the Enterprise Network Services team when ENoS retired. But Ernest wasn’t just a replacement, he came complete with all the latest upgrades and safety measures. His body is shielded with Network Encapsulation Protection. Inside the torso portion of his body are rings of Network Segmentation Controls (Dante’s original rings of hell). Between each ring is a firewall (because you can never have too many). The torso and hip section will go opaque and turn red if a network issue is detected. His head is composed of a 16K Optical System, Interpretive Audio Detection System, and a Matrix Network Processing Unit, which bears an uncanny resemblance to a caffeine molecule because I know the hours this team keeps and if it isn’t done with something with caffeine in it then it doesn’t get done. External to the encapsulation is the Hi-Fidelity Directional Audio near the shoulders. His shoulders are designed to rotate 360 degrees to optimize every action he takes. At chest level you will find the Configuration & Repeatable Operational Processes (CROP) sensors. These allow Ernest to automate common and repetitive tasks. He can provide the highest level of network support because he gives a CROP! Network probes make up his very articulated fingers. The longest fingers are only used during instances of possible network breaches where in-depth probing must be performed. His mobility base is composed of an Anti-Grav Vertical Propulsion Unit, Right & Left Thrusters, and Forward & Reverse Thrusters to provide horizontal movement. Articulated landing gear is stored in the base for those rare moments when he has down time. |
