While attending the Corporate Manufacturing Symposium, I watched the Digital Services team bust their butts to make sure everything went smoothly, which it did. I also think they were a bit underappreciated. So, I decided to acknowledge them in my own fashion. One night in the hotel room I sketched out the specs for a Digital Services robot (DoriS). Doris is composed of everything a large meeting would need. Starting with a holographic screen projection for the face, 360 degree microphones in all 4 corners at the top of the body, speakers in all four corners of the front, 3 separate camera lenses in the center of the body surrounded by a light ring, both arms that can extend to become antennas for providing better Wi-Fi connections, the hands that can protrude cable “fingers” that provide all the data / video connectivity necessary, Anti-gravity propulsion in the base and a satellite dish built into the back to provide world-wide broadcasting. |
