In keeping with a robot for each of the teams, the Enterprise Architects were the inspiration for EArl. The construct of EArl has different nuances. The body is based on a cylindrical multi-combination lock (which reflects the right combination of information for an Architectural Review Board, and thoughts of the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail ).

The multi-color strip up the front which reflects the Disaster Recovery tiers. The illuminated mouth which can change colors based on EArl’s decision on whether you may proceed or not, the yellow optic ring (they drink a lot of coffee). The green cranial dome which can also change color to indicate overall enterprise status. Finally, the red directional thrusters and propulsion built into the base.
