Remus

Now, we will take a look at Remus. His name was constructed partially from the acronym for the Engineering & Managed Services (EMS) team. The team itself no longer exists, and its members have been distributed into other functional groups. Remus is modeled after the team’s director and is the shortest of the team. However, what he may lack in height is made up in his capabilities. Remus, like many members of the former team, could probably best be categorized as a mutt. He is a blend of many things that help form a hyper-converged unit. Remus has a multi-CPU, multi-core system in his skull. Vents in his cheeks ensure he is able to keep a cool head. A multi-technology storage system in his main body allows for fast access and archival data storage, again with vents for heat dissipation. He also has the ability to interface with, and monitor all, network traffic from a fabric switch in his stomach. The last design elements – the optical visor he wears on his head and the digital latex-coated probes on his hands – provide him with an ability to diagnose even the smallest issues. The tracks given to him for feet are meant to give him more stability as he crosses rough terrain.
